Should my gf stop wearing high heels? she has to tiptoe on bare feet and has foot cramps, but still insists?

my girlfriend INSISTS on wearing 3-4 inch high strappy sandals (the prom type) every day. i keep telling her they%26#039;re bad but she won%26#039;t listen.

even when she%26#039;s barefoot, she has to walk on her toes. she *always* does that, at least whenever i see her without shoes in the dorm or anywhere. when she is sitting she also bends her feet like this.

if she stands still with her bare feet flat on the ground, she will get painful foot cramps after a while and i have to carry her around. this happens almost every day.

and every day by the evening, her feet are very sore, so i have to massage them.

but she still insists on the high heels.

maybe she doesn%26#039;t have a choice. it%26#039;s a lose-lose situation for her:

sore feet with high high heels,

but foot cramps and sorer feet with no heels.

any advice?

what should she do? what should i do?

and we%26#039;re only 18... she needs her feet to get on in life.

The muscles and tendon on the back of her lower legs are shortened. Tell her to get heals that are lower and to gradually lower it. So, she can%26#039;t be walking on 3-4 inch high heals all day and then all of a sudden totally flat. She uses 3-4 inch high heals straps?....go with her to a shoe store and get ones that are 2-3 inches high...and then after two months or so...get her ones that are 1-2 inches high....If she loves high heals so much...she can still continue wearing them as high as 3-4 inches, but she has to wear different heal sizes at some point of each day. When she has gone down to almost flat...remind her to change into lower heals shoes every day- at home (there are house shoes with heals), so this doesn%26#039;t happen again. When you massage her feet avoid massaging her archilles tendon,...instead put one hand under her heal and the other higher with your palm and push her foot gently towards her (flex it and hold it there for a few seconds only as far as she can bear)....to stretch the muscles and the archilles at the back of her feet and lower leg....gently...and every day if possible....or tell her to reach for the tip of her feet and stay in that position for a few seconds at a time.
Reply:She has to stop wearing high heels. It affects the spine in the lumbar region and protrudes forward, In addition she may get back pain and later problems. If she insists the she has to suffer a lot.
Reply:She needs to see a doctor about her feet. That is not normal. I have a friend whose little girl walks around on her tip-toes and it causes problems in her legs.
Reply:she needs Dr. Shol%26#039;s
Reply:She really should lay off the high heels. She can still wear them on occasion, but there is no point to wear them everyday. Also, it sounds like maybe she is walking on her toes, having you carry her and needing foot massages in order to get attention. If this is true, maybe you can solve the problem by giving her attention when she doesn%26#039;t do these things.
Reply:Heels cause hammer toes (very painful), poor circulation, and a bad back. The only way to correct hammer toes is surgery and then sometimes that doesn%26#039;t even work.

Does she think that she%26#039;s not good enough if she wears %26quot;normal%26quot; shoes? Tell ya what....take her shoe shopping and buy her a pair of sexy sandals, flip flops, or slides.
